Peace region cowboys compete in Spring Break Up rodeo

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Two local cowboys returned to the Peace to compete in the Dawson Creek Exhibition & Stampede last weekend.

Hudson’s Hope product Jake Watson came in fifth in the Saddle Bronc event finishing with 82.5 points.

Jacob Gardner, hailing from Fort St. John, got 87.5 points, snagging second place in the Bull Riding event.

Gardner started off his 2022 season in March, representing Team Canada at the PBR Global Cup in Arlington, Texas.

The PBR Cup was his first competition since his bicep injury that put an early end to his 2021 season.
