Weekend Warriors finish 2-2 in Senior Native Provincial Hockey Championships

BUICK, B.C. – Blueberry River First Nation’s (BRFN) Weekend Warriors finished 2-2 at the Senior Native Provincial Championships held in Edmonton last weekend.

The team was itching to hit the ice after a two-year delay and only having one practice before the tournament.

All players were members of the community of Blueberry, except the goalie, who is from the Ranchland Hockey League.

Junior Apsassin says the team was happy to get out on the ice as the only B.C. team in the tournament.

Next, the team is heading to the Fred Saskamoose “Chief Thunderstick” National Hockey Championship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan May 19th to 22nd
