Charlie Lake Boat Launch to reopen ahead of schedule
CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. – The Charlie Lake Boat Launch will reopen tomorrow, ahead of schedule, The City of Fort St. John has announced.
The launch originally closed on June 21st for close to three weeks to replace existing concrete launch with a flexible concrete mattress with a longer lifespan.
The new launch comes with a 20-year warranty and is expected to last upwards of 50 years.
“I am very pleased the work by our contractor, Northern Legendary was completed on budget and ahead of schedule so residents are able to use it this weekend,” said Wally Ferris, General Manager of Community Services.
The new boat launch came with a price tag of $167,000 with a $50,000 contribution from Area C and a $20,000 contribution from the Peace River Regional District. The remaining balance was provided by the City of Fort St. John.
