Beatton Airport Road fire grows to 12,000 hectares
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Officials new estimate the Beatton Airport Road fire is now 12,000 hectares in size.
Incident Information Officer Marg Drysdale confirmed that the fire has 112 firefighters assigned to it, along with nine helicopters and 12 pieces of heavy equipment.
At this time, Drysdale could not confirm what direction the flames are heading.
An evacuation order issued on Thursday near the fire was expanded to include more residences in the area.
