Rising Gasoline Prices Reach Northern BC

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The retail price of gasoline is on the rise again and this time, it doesn’t appear as if local area motorists will be able to dodge it.

By midday today, both the city’s PetroCan outlets had posted a five cent hike to a 101.9. According to Gas Buddy.com’s Senior Analyst Dan McTeague by the end of the week all of northern BC is likely to be dealing with a pretty significant price increase.

Actually, McTeague believes this region has been resting on old inventory borrowed time, for two or three weeks now, as prices rose elsewhere in the country.

That noted, he also believes Peace Country motorists have been the beneficiaries of local retailer sensitivity to the area’s current economic crisis.
