BC Liquor Stores share bears for charity
The annual Share-a-Bear campaign is back, and the Fort St. John branch of the BC Liquor Distribution Branch is hoping to make this year their 12th year of giving out the most bears.
Senior Manager of the Fort St. John branch Shannon Mackay says she thinks the city keeps placing first because the community has embraced it and made it their mission, so to speak.
Since November 12th, Mackay says 1,170 bears have been sold to date.
Their goal is 2,400, which she has complete confidence they will make before Christmas. Last year, the Liquor Store sold their last bear at 5:30 PM on Christmas Eve.
The set of twin pandas are for sale $12.50, and one of the twins will be shared with a local community charity. The customer can choose to take the twin bear home, or donate it back as well.
Not just yet, but customers can also participate in a free draw for a giant panda bear that is approximately 56 centimetres tall.
Each BC Liquor Store will have two giant panda bears available.
