Man and woman arrested in Dawson Creek after fleeing from RCMP
A 31-year-old man and 35-year-old woman are in custody after attempting to flee from Dawson Creek RCMP.
On Friday morning, just before 10 AM, Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of a male who had just been assaulted.
Officers were informed that the suspect was driving a grey dodge pick up truck.
As they neared the scene, RCMP located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, the driver fled fast away from the officers, colliding with an unoccupied parked vehicle a short distance later.
After the collision, the two occupants attempted to flee on foot — but instead, the woman was arrested at the scene and the man was found and arrested a short distance away from the crash site.
After searching the suspect vehicle incidental to arrest, officers were able to seize an imitation firearm, drugs, and cash that they believed were stolen from a residential break and enter earlier in the day.
Both suspects are in custody and waiting on a bail hearing.
