Dawson Creek RCMP respond to reports of theft and gunfire over the weekend
On Saturday, Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress in the 1200 block of 116th avenue.
Police were told a couple returning home had interrupted the suspect while he was in the process of stealing items from their residence and vehicles.
The owner attempted to stop the thief but was struck with a hammer, allowing the thief to escape.
A photo was taken of the thief by one of the homeowners, and police are looking to identify their suspect.
Dawson Creek RCMP also responded to a complaint of theft of Bear Spray from a local business the same day.
Surveillance video showed a man taking the bear spray and allegedly walking out of the store without paying for it.
Police are still seeking the suspect who has a Chinese tattoo on the left side of his neck.
Early Sunday morning, around 12:30 am, RCMP received a complaint of a gunshot heard in the 1500 block of 92nd Avenue in Dawson Creek.
Responding officers located a vehicle that appeared to have damage consistent with it being shot.
The Dawson Creek RCMP General Investigation Section was called out to assist, and the investigation is ongoing.
Is it not clear if this incident is related to the one on November 5th that is similar.
