Two registered nurses, who work in rural communities, are biking from Prince Rupert to Prince George – hoping to get to their destination on September 4th.

For the 6 days they are on the road, Mikaela Pond and Jennifer Miller hope to raise $1,000 for every day they bike, so they can donate $6,000 to HopeAir.

HopeAir is an organization that helps patients pay for the transportation costs of getting to a facility that can care for them.

Each flight costs about $250, so the girls are hoping they can donate the money and provide 25 flights for patients who need them.

By partnering with HopeAir and pledging to donate the money, they say they want to bring awareness to how inaccessible health care is in Northern BC.

As of Wednesday, the campaign has reached two thirds of it’s goal.
