One wounded in Ottawa shopping mall shooting but no ‘active shooter’: Police

OTTAWA — Police say one person has been injured in shooting at an Ottawa outlet mall.

Staff-Sgt. Rick Keindel (KIN’-del) says the shooting occurred on an outdoor pedestrian walkway at the Tanger Outlets mall in the city’s west end around 3:45 p.m.

He says police are looking for at least one suspect but that it isn’t believed there is an “active shooter” on the loose.

Keindel says the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

He says a half-dozen officers have set up a perimeter at the scene and are interviewing witnessess.

Keindel says the mall has not been locked down.
