Public forum on highway speeds tonight in Dawson Creek
Transportation Minister Todd Stone says research has shown that drivers not keeping up with the flow of traffic cause more accidents than speeders, so the review may end up with both increased and reduced speed limits in some areas.
Along with highway speeds, the review is also looking at reducing the risk of wildlife-related crashes, how slower vehicles can travel more safely, and the use of winter tires.
The public forum will be held at the Best Western Dawson Creek from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8.
Feedback can also be submitted online until January 24, 2014.
