Hay Bale Fire causes highway closure

The local RCMP has confirmed a load of hay bales was lost last night in a fire north of Fort St. John.

It happened about 10:30 near mile-80 of the Alaska Highway, which was reportedly closed for an undisclosed period.

However, it’s believed the only other damage was to the low-bed trailer on which the bales were loaded.

Police say the driver of the truck involved, managed to disconnect it from the trailer and he also escaped injury.
