Prescribed burn, slash cleaning scheduled for Tumbler Ridge trail

A prescribed burn is scheduled for Thursday July 9 in Tumbler Ridge.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — BC Wildfire Service crews will be working to clear existing slash piles in Tumbler Ridge, along with a planned prescribed burn.

According to the District of Tumbler Ridge, crews from the BC Wildfire Service will be along the Flatbed Pool Trails throughout the week, working to clear and manage slash piles that have existed in the area for several years.

The district also said a burning of the slash piles is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, if weather permits.

While the work is underway, trail users may encounter crews and equipment. Users are asked to use caution, follow posted signage and give plenty of space for workers.

The district thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as “this important wildfire risk reduction work is completed.”
