(UPDATE) Power outage in Fort St. John affects more than 2,000 customers

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A BC Hydro power outage has left more than 2,000 customers in the city without power. 

According to BC Hydro’s outages list, on July 7 at 9:20 a.m., a power outage has affected 2,130 BC Hydro customers.

The areas affected by the outage are around East of Beaver Road, West of 90 Ave, South of 102 Ave and North of 79 Ave. 

The update on the website said no crew has been assigned to the outage and it is under investigation. 

According to an update at 10:11 a.m., the outage was due to birds hitting BC Hydro wires.
