Northern Health launches off-road vehicles survey in wake of Pouce Coupe crash

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A research team from Northern Health, the University of British Columbia and the Provincial Health Services Authority has opened a survey on off-road vehicle usage after a deadly crash in Pouce Coupe. 

According to a June 12th Facebook post from Northern Health, the survey is designed to improve understanding of the use of off-road vehicles, including ATVs, quads, and side-by-sides, in the region.

“Your input helps identify ways to prevent injuries,” the post said.

On June 4th, an incident involving a side-by-side in Pouce Coupe resulted in the death of two children and injuries to three others. 

A GoFundMe created on June 5th in support of the families involved in the incident has raised over $20,057 as of June 12th. 

Dawson Creek RCMP announced on June 9th that they had begun an investigation into the incident.

The survey is open anonymously to residents 19 years of age and older, and must be completed by June 30th.   

Those who complete the survey could win a $250 pre-paid visa gift card.
