Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce to host governance leadership session

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a governance leadership session in June.

According to a Facebook post from the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce on May 4th, the session will provide practical guidance to organizations with limited non-profit staff in which roles overlap and boards take on expanded responsibilities. 

Topics for the session will include governance fundamentals for smaller organizations, limited-capacity roles and responsibilities, relationships between the board and staff, effective board structure development, and more. 

The Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce said having stronger governance will support increasingly sustainable organizations and improved outcomes in the North Peace region. 

According to the post, the event will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 4th. Tickets are $25 per person. 

The session will be hosted in person at 120th Avenue, 9820, Northern Lights College in Fort St. John, but a virtual option is available.
