Joint rescue of injured ATV rider conducted near Tumbler Ridge

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — North Peace Search and Rescue was involved in a rescue near Tumbler Ridge on May 23rd.

According to a Facebook post from North Peace Search and Rescue on May 24th, it assisted Tumbler Ridge Search and Rescue in an operation near Quantum Falls to rescue an injured ATV rider.

Tumbler Ridge Search and Rescue said in a Facebook post on May 24th an ATV accident occurred in Mountain Goat Canyon on May 23rd.

According to North Peace Search and Rescue (NPSAR) it was successful in accessing the area where the rider had been injured, with assistance from Bailey Helicopters. 

Bailey Helicopters said in a May 25th Facebook post it worked alongside NPSAR and Tumbler Ridge Search and Rescue teams to provide access into challenging terrain using it’s EC135 helicopter.  

“Following the rescue, the aircraft transitioned directly into a medevac role, transporting the patient to Fort St. John where care was transferred to the British Columbia Emergency Health Services fixed-wing crew for continued medical transport,” the post said.
