Fort St. John Family Practice Associates Clinic nixes walk-in services

Effective July 1st, the Fort St. John Family Practice Associates Clinic will not offer walk-in clinic services.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Effective July 1st, the Fort St. John Family Practice Associates Clinic will not offer walk-in clinic services.

The clinic announced the changes in a Facebook post on May 21st. 

According to the post, the clinic is transitioning to align with a new required provincial working model for physicians.

It said care will continue to be available, but it may look different moving forward. 

“Each physician will continue to maintain their own individual panel of patients and will provide care both in person and virtually,” the post said. 

“To help improve timely access to care, each physician will be increasing the number of same-day access appointments available to their patients in place of the current walk-in clinic services.”

The clinic encourages patients to continue booking routine appointments with their family physician. It also said patients can book same-day access appointments for more urgent concerns.

Patients are recommended to call the clinic or come in first thing in the morning for same-day access appointments, the clinic said.

The clinic is currently accepting new patients after announcing in March 2026 it had recruited two new physicians.
