MAPLE RIDGE — Police in British Columbia have arrested 11 people in connection with an illegal gambling house in Metro Vancouver.
Investigators say they began looking into the suspected gaming operation in Maple Ridge last November.
The investigation resulted in officers executing searches in Maple Ridge, Coquitlam and Surrey on April 29, leading to the arrests.
Police say the searches also turned up items including a shotgun with a suppressor, gambling equipment and more than $34,000 in cash.
Six of those arrested have been issued provincial casino bans effective April 30.
All 11 have been released pending the ongoing investigation, and police say charges are anticipated.
