Peace River Forage Association of BC to host Wildfire training sessions
The Peace River Forage Association will be hosting a series of Wildfire training sessions at the end of May.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Peace River Forage Association of BC is doing its part to help residents prepare for the wildfire season.
Starting May 28th until May 31st, the association will host two separate training programs.
Each program will consist of two days of knowledge of fire and fire behaviour and training on how to fight fire safely.Â

The first program will be held at Aitken Creek Road and Theissen Bro’s Ranch from May 28th to 29th, while the second program will be held at Rose Prairie Hall from May 30th to 31st.Â
Day one of each program will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will include the S100 Basic Fire Suppression & Safety and S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance training courses.
Day two of each program will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will provide S185 training and a pump lab.
Training during the sessions will be provided by Northern FireWoRx. Before training, participants must complete the ICS 100 (Incident Command System 100) study package and exam.

Participants will have to complete written, oral and field exams during the sessions.Â
According to the Peace River Forage Association of British Columbia, 25 people are needed for each school, otherwise only one of the two schools might be hosted, which would be decided after registration closes.Â

Registration for both programs will be open until May 24th, with tickets available on the Peace River Forage Association website for $175.Â
