TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — School District 59 (SD59) has extended its community consultation period. 

According to a post uploaded to SD59’s Facebook page on April 16th, the Tumbler Ridge community consultation period has been extended to 4 p.m. on April 22nd. 

Safer School Together, on behalf of SD59, is supporting a community consultation process in order to develop a trauma-informed and culturally responsive long-term plan for the secondary learning environment.

The consultation is for Tumbler Ridge residents who would like to share their thoughts on their priorities for secondary school facilities following the February school shooting

“We recognize the important role schools play in the well-being of students, families and the broader community, and are committed to a process that is respectful, inclusive and grounded in listening,” the post said. 

“Our goal is to ensure that the voices of this community are heard as future planning moves forward.”

Tumbler Ridge residents are invited to participate in a confidential online survey to share thoughts and suggestions.
