The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will run from April 27th to May 3rd

The foundation, Olson noted, has raised $142,000 since it started working with Tim Horton’s in 2004.

This year, the foundation hopes to raise as much as it did last year.

“Last year we doubled, we went from $14,000 to $32,000, so this year we are hoping to just maintain at $32,000,” Olson highlighted. “We’re not looking to grow too much, we just want to spread smiles, as many smiles as we can.”

The foundation has opened pre-orders, which allow people to pre-order cookies either for pick up or have them delivered by the foundation for orders of 25 dozen or more.

“We encourage people to post on social media with their smiles, their cookies and use the #SmileCookieFSJ,” she added. “We would love to share and repost some of these memories.”

The funds raised during this campaign will be used by the foundation’s Greatest Need Fund and help support the purchase of equipment and educational funding across the hospital and the Peace Villa.

Olson said: “There isn’t a specific piece of equipment allocated for it, because it is a third-party event hosted by Tim Hortons, but the Greatest Need Fund allows us to have the greatest flexibility.” Olson is asking people interested in volunteering this year to help ice the cookies or deliver to contact fsjhf@northernhealth.ca
