‘Staffing shortage’ closes the Hudson’s Hope Health Centre’s ER temporarily for the fourth time in April.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The Hudson’s Hope Health Centre’s emergency department is “temporarily closed” for the fourth time this month.
According to Northern Health’s Emergency Department Status page, the centre – which was scheduled to reopen today, April 13th – will now reopen on April 14th at 8.30 a.m.
The centre was previously closed on April 1st, April 2nd and April 10th.

The health authority, in a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, said: “Hudson’s Hope Health Centre is currently experiencing an interruption to its daytime and weekday emergency department services as a result of a staffing shortage.”
The centre is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during normal working hours.
Hudson’s Hope residents in need of emergency care on weekends or outside normal working hours are asked to call 911 to connect with BC Emergency Health Services for transport to the nearest available hospital.
In March, the Hudson’s Hope Health Centre closed eight times for a total of 60 hours of service interruptions.
