Northern Health, in a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, said: “As with all recent interruptions to the weekday, daytime emergency department services at Hudson’s Hope Health Centre – the cause is staffing challenges.”
During normal working hours, the centre is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On the weekends and outside of normal working hours, residents in need of emergency care are urged by the health authority to call 911 to connect to BC Emergency Health Services for transport to the nearest available hospital.
This comes after Travous Quibell, Hudson’s Hope mayor, and British Columbia Rural Health Network’s (BCRHN) executive director, Paul Adams, raised concerns about the multiple closures at the Hudson’s Hope Health Centre.
