The Energetic Amazing Race, set to take place on May 30th, features a scaled-down version of the hit reality show, The Amazing Race.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The local version of a popular reality television series will return to Fort St. John in 2026.
The Energetic Amazing Race features teams running around Fort St. John in search of local landmarks in lieu of exotic locales.
It is based on popular reality series The Amazing Race – which has seen 38 seasons and 442 episodes produced since it debuted in 2001.

International versions include The Amazing Race Canada, which has produced 11 seasons since its launch in 2013.
City of Fort St.John recreational programmer Marissa Jordan describes the event as “one of her favourites” since beginning her job with the city, and she says it is a scaled-down version of the hit show.
“It is the same concept with kind of running around, doing puzzles, doing physical, active challenges,” said Jordan. “It is a mixed bag of anything, from challenges at businesses, physical activity, maybe more puzzle brainteasers.”
“The [big] difference is it’s all on foot,” she said, as opposed to using transportation like on television.
A team can range from two to six players, with anywhere from 10 to 12 stops around Fort St. John.
