FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson provincial courts between January 26th and January 30th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, January 26th

Randy Tyler Field (born 2000)

Field was found guilty of two counts of breaching a probation order on December 23rd, 2024 and January 9th, 2025 in Fort St. John. 

They were handed a suspended sentence, where the accused is given conditions to follow, and  a probation order for 12 months. 

Field was ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping the victims of a crime.

Donnie Andrew Goodine (born 1991)

Goodine was found guilty in relation to an incident on October 1st, 2024 in Fort St. John. 

Goodine was issued a $1,000 recognizance after the allegation for a period of 12 months. If Goodine fails to follow the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay the $1,000. 

Jordan Mathew Kucera (born 1991)

Kucera was found guilty of dangerous operation of a conveyance on January 19th, 2025 in Taylor. 

They were handed a conditional discharge sentence, where the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets, an 18-month probation order, a driving prohibition for one year and told to pay a victim surcharge of $100. 

Fort Nelson Provincial Court sentencing, January 26th

Ryan Eric Whitehead (born 1995) 

Whitehead was found guilty of breaching a probation order on December 20th, 2025 in Fort Nelson. 

They were sentenced to the jail time they had already served.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, January 27th

Jared Ryan Anderson (born 1993)

Anderson was found guilty of possessing a loaded or unloaded firearm with ammunition that is restricted or prohibited, possessing a firearm without a licence or registration, breaching a release order, possessing a firearm contrary to order and possessing an unauthorized non-firearm on March 30th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to jail for 184 days and given a probation order for 24 months, a firearm prohibition for 10 years and are subject to forfeiture – which allows the government to seize property and assets ‘tainted’ by crime.

Anderson was also issued a jail-time-served sentence. 

Liane Rose Kotanko (born 1971)

Kotanko was found guilty of breaching a probation order on August 15th, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

They were issued a conditional sentence – which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest – for 15 days. 

Kotanko was also found guilty of theft worth $5,000 or under on April 19th, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

They were issued a conditional sentence for 60 days and a probation order for 12 months, and must pay a victim surcharge of $100. 

Fort Nelson Provincial Court sentencing, January 27th

James Ross David Urquhart (born 1994)

Urquhart was found guilty of unlawfully discharging a firearm on April 23rd, 2025 in Fort Nelson. 

They were handed an 18-month conditional sentence, issued a DNA order, told to report for sample collection, are subject to forfeiture and given both a probation order for 12 months and 10-year firearm prohibition. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, January 28th

James Robert Page (born 1998)

Page was found guilty of assault causing bodily harm on January 29th, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to jail for 180 days and issued a DNA order, a probation order for 18 months and a firearm prohibition for five years. 

Fort Nelson Provincial Court sentencing, January 28th

Yves Joseph Paul Clouatre (born 1963)

Clouatre was found guilty of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm on September 12th, 2025 in Fort Nelson. 

They were issued a conditional sentence for four months, a probation order for 12 months and are subject to forfeiture.
