Man pleads guilty to assault after RCMP investigation to recover stolen truck

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A man has pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm. 

According to the BC Prosecution Service, Jakob Douglas Sherwood pleaded guilty on January 5th, 2026, in relation to an incident on February 19th to 20th last year. 

This comes after Sherwood and four other people were charged by the Fort St. John RCMP and RCMP’s emergency response team as part of an operation to recover a stolen truck.

Sherwood’s sentencing has been scheduled for April 13th, 2026.
