B.C. Conservative leadership candidate to hold event in Fort St. John
Yuri Fulmer – an entrepreneur and philanthropist who ran in the 2024 election under the Conservative banner – will visit Fort St. John on January 12th as part of his campaign to become the leader of the Conservative Party of B.C.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — An early candidate to be the next Conservative Party of B.C. leader will meet with potential supporters in Fort St. John.
Yuri Fulmer will hold an event in Fort St. John on Monday, January 12th at the Fort St. John Curling Club.
It is one of five events announced throughout January as well as the only stop in the northeast.
Fulmer, a native of Australia, moved to Vancouver in 1992. He is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who is currently the chancellor of Capilano University in North Vancouver, according to a press release.
Fulmer ran in the 2024 provincial election, narrowly losing in the riding of West Vancouver-Sea to Sky to B.C. Green Party candidate Jeremy Valeriote.
In a statement, Fulmer said he wants to become party leader “because our province deserves real leadership and a chance to be the envy of Canada once again.”
“My children’s generation isn’t growing up with the same opportunities for success as my generation—and that’s unacceptable. I believe every British Columbian deserves real opportunity and the confidence that the future can be better than today,” said Fulmer in a press release.
