Tourmaline renews free Sunday swims at North Peace Leisure Pool for another year
Tourmaline Oil’s renewed sponsorship means free swims at the North Peace Leisure Pool will continue every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in 2026.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Free Sunday swims are continuing for another year at the North Peace Leisure Pool, thanks to renewed sponsorship from Tourmaline Oil.
In a Facebook post on January 4th, the City of Fort St. John announced free public swims for residents will continue every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. throughout 2026.
When the initiative was first announced in January 2025, Tourmaline said the sponsorship reflected its commitment to giving back to the communities where its employees live and work.
By covering admission costs, the company noted it hoped to bring families and individuals together for “fun, fitness and connection.”
The North Peace Leisure Pool will also continue to offer a regular paid swim from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays, prior to the free session.
Residents are encouraged to plan their visits using the city’s online drop-in calendar, which is updated four weeks in advance and includes details on lap swim availability, public swim amenities such as waterslides and diving boards and aquatic fitness programs.
A printable two-page drop-in schedule is also available through the city’s website.
