FORT ST JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts between December 29th and January 2nd.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, December 29th

Terry David Green (born 1960):

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Green for an incident on August 3rd, 2023. 

Green was handed a recognizance after an allegation for a period of 12 months. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, December 30th

Jason Dumont (born 1980):

Dumont was found guilty of assault in two separate incidents on August 21st, 2025 in Dawson Creek and on September 20th, 2025 in Tumbler Ridge. 

Dumont was handed a suspended sentence, where the accused is given conditions to follow,  and a 12-month probation order. 

Justin Lorin Nathan Tremblay (born 1995): 

Tremblay was found guilty of mischief $5,000 or under and assault on June 7th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

Tremblay was handed a conditional discharge – which means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets – a probation order of 12 months. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, January 2nd

Joshua Franklin Clarke (born 1985): 

Clarke was found guilty of uttering threats and assault by choking on July 30th, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

Clarke was handed a conditional sentence – served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest’ – for four months, a probation order for 12 months and a firearms prohibition for five years. 

He was also issued a DNA order and was asked to report for sample collection.
