FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The city’s Chamber of Commerce has officially selected its new board of directors for the year 2026.
In a recent Facebook post uploaded on December 5th, the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce is seen introducing the board.
The chamber had announced plans of electing new board members in early October and its nominations opened by November 3rd.
Deena Del Giusto, new president of the board and realtor for REMAX/Action Realty, says it is looking towards doing more advocacy.
She said: “We’d like to boost membership and make sure that the impact of the chamber is known throughout all of the business community in Fort St. John.”
Talking about the board’s plan for 2026, Guisto said: “We’re all on our Creating Energy conference, we have some great speakers lined up to talk about the economy, the energy economy around Fort St. John and the direction it plans to go in.”
Micah Sanchez, board director and founder and CEO of Flavur Creative, is excited about new members joining for the new year.

He said: “In the past we generally had an older board, whereas this year, we have quite a few people under 40 on the board.
“What’s really exciting is just having a good diverse age range of people to speak to different target markets and bring different perspectives.”
On top of advocacy work, Sanchez shared the board will be splitting its focus for the coming year
He said: “Last year we had a really strong focus on advocacy and creating relevance for the chamber, and now the board feels we’ve done a pretty good job of that.
“Now the focus is going to be on networking and building community for small business owners, on top of advocacy.”
Vince van Wieringen, sales manager for Ideal Office Solutions, who will be moving into the past president role for the board, told Energeticcicty.ca, he will continue to work with the board as a mentor.

He said: “I will pass on my skills, my negotiations, my advocacy and help them continue to move in the right direction.
“My job this year is to be a mentor and make sure they have all the tools they need to continue to be successful in the chamber and to represent our economy and our local businesses through the North Peace.”
The Chamber of Commerce’s Creating Energy Northern Resource Conference will take place on April 21st, 2026 and it will be open to the public to attend. Register for the conference here.
