BC Transit service to reduce in Fort St. John over holiday season
BC Transit reduces winter services for routes serving Kindergarten to Grade 12 as part of a seasonal service change.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC Transit services will be reduced in the city as part of a seasonal service change.
In the winter break, starting from December 21st, routes serving Kindergarten to Grade 12 students will be discontinued and will return on January 4th, 2026.
The change applies to trips on Route 4 Southeast and Route 5 Southwest marked with the “S” trip note in the Rider’s Guide.
More buses will be available for the public on Route 2 Southside and Route 3 Central Prospect Park marked with the “R” in the trip notes instead.
Jamie Weiss, senior media relations and public affairs advisor for BC Transit, told Energeticcity.ca: “We’re seeing a reduction in transit need during that time.
“This is a shift of resources from a few of the routes that serve the K to 12 students towards routes that are for more regular transit users.
“This is to make sure that we’re still utilizing all the resources we have, but making sure that we’re maximizing it for transit users in Fort St. John.”
