Sweetwater Wind Project

Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. (RES) is proposing the Sweetwater Wind Project, located in Treaty 8 territory on private land, approximately 20 km north of Dawson Creek in British Columbia. The project is expected to generate 150-200 MW of wind energy and is planned for submission into the BC Hydro 2025 Call for Power to help meet the province’s growing electricity needs. The project includes:

  • approximately 36 wind turbines
  • a medium voltage buried collector system
  • roads, laydown areas, and related infrastructure
  • a high voltage substation
  • 10km transmission line connecting the project to the BC Hydro system
