Fort St. John store tops Giving Shelter campaign by raising over $14k
The $14,861 raised for the Women’s Resource Society in Fort St. John Shoppers Drug Mart was the highest of all stores participating in the Giving Shelter campaign in 2025, according to local organizer Jamie Parsons.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local fundraiser at Shoppers Drug Mart has brought in more than $14,000 to support the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society.
This came as part of the Giving Shelter campaign, an annual initiative by Shoppers that raises funds to support local women’s shelters and organizations across Canada.
Organized locally by Women’s Resource Society board member and Shoppers employee Jamie Parsons, the fundraiser included a ‘Gift of Flight’ WestJet raffle, where 500 tickets were sold at $20 each in-store on October 2nd and October 3rd.

The winner of the raffle was promised a round-trip flight for two to a WestJet destination of their choosing.
The raffle sold out by the end of the second day, with Becky Grimsrud announced as the winner on October 6th.
Parsons said the Fort St. John Shoppers location ranked number one nationally, bringing in the highest total of all participating stores across Canada with $14,861 raised.
“I feel extremely proud that our community has come together once again,” said Parsons. “I’m pleased that I can be a champion for such a good cause. Our local women’s society is a priceless resource for Fort St. John.”
