(UPDATE) Highway 97 reopened south of Chewtynd

BC Hydro workers cleared the road and allowed traffic to resume shortly before 1 p.m. on the 19th.

Updated October 19th 1:00 p.m.: The road is now clear.

CHETWYND, B.C. — A stretch of Highway 97 south of Chetwynd has reopened, after being closed due to downed power lines.

According to DriveBC, the closure — which began at 11:22 a.m. on Sunday, October 19th — ran between Ganson Road and Stone Creek Subdivision, roughly 15 kilometres south of Chetwynd.
