New hearing dates set for trio charged with manslaughter in Fort St. John

Three people facing manslaughter charges have new upcoming court dates after a person died in June on 99th Avenue.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Three individuals facing manslaughter charges in Fort St. John have new upcoming court dates.

Dyllon Cazes, Katlin Cota and Ethan Dore were all arrested in late June following an “intensive multi-agency investigation” into an incident where the victim of an alleged assault was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident occurred on the evening of June 24th in the parking lot of Fort St. John Alliance Church on 99th Avenue.

According to a representative of the BC Prosecution Service, all three are currently still in custody.

Two of the accused individuals — Cazes and Cota — have bail hearings scheduled for this week. 

Cazes’ is set for Thursday, July 31st while Cota’s will take place the day prior on Wednesday, July 30th. Both their hearings will take place in Williams Lake.

Dore, meanwhile, has a hearing scheduled for August 11th in Fort St. John to consult with council.

A publication ban is in effect covering the details of the bail hearings.
