FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Services at the Boundary Lake Water Station will be temporarily shut off just 10 days after it re-opened from an 11-month closure.

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) said services at the water station will be unavailable on July 28th for a scheduled power outage.

Operations at the station will resume on July 29th, according to the PRRD.

The station first closed indefinitely in August 2024 after an inspection revealed water quality concerns.

A chemical had leaked from an unauthorized truck that tried to take water from a connection point at the facility without permission, causing an equipment outage that stopped the water flow.

The station officially reopened on July 18th after getting approval from Northern Health.

Residents can access the Feye Spring Water Station at 1863 Imperial Avenue as an alternative during the outage on Monday.

Boundary Lake Water Station’s address is 1105 Cecil Lake Road in Electoral Area B.
