‘We were violated’: Local barbershop destroyed by fire
The Golden Hands Barbershop was destroyed by a fire shortly after 3:30 a.m. on July 12th and the cause is being investigated by the Fort St. John RCMP.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local business said it has experienced one of the “darkest days in its history” after its barbershop was destroyed by a fire on Saturday morning.
In a July 12th Facebook post, Golden Hands Barbershop said the store was destroyed in a fire shortly after 3:30 a.m.
“Today was one of the darkest days in Golden Hands Barbershop history,” said the post.
“Golden Hands Barbershop wasn’t just destroyed, we were violated.”
Christiaan Dreyer, media relations officer with the Fort St. John RCMP, said members of the detachment, the fire department and a forensic identification services unit attended the scene earlier in the day.
Dreyer said the fire is currently under investigation, but it is being treated as suspicious.
The barbershop’s post alleged the fire was arson.

“Someone decided to destroy not just property, but the trust and love we’ve worked so hard to build with our community,” said the post.
The business encourages clients to visit its other locations, such as in Mackenzie Mall and the Experts Barbershop at Totem Mall.
Energeticcity.ca contacted the Fort St. John Fire Department for more information but did not receive an immediate response before publication.
The barbershop is located at 9208 100th Street in Fort St. John.
