FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — One of the largest aircraft in the Canadian Air Force is set to land at Fort St. John airport over the weekend.
The jet will do a few passes before landing at North Peace Regional Airport between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 12th.
The C17 Globemaster III jet is piloted by Jerin Roberts, who was born and raised in Fort St. John.
Roberts’ sister, Jenessa Lowes, posted about her brother’s flight in a July 11th Facebook post inviting people to watch the landing.
“If you’re around and want to see this huge bird in the sky, he’s going to do a couple [of] passes around before landing,” said Lowes’ post.
Lowes told Energeticcity.ca she is proud of him and looks forward to welcoming him after he lands, along with the rest of their family.
He is flying from Trenton, Ontario.
