Week-long road closure to start near local elementary school

105th Avenue between 112th and 116th Streets will be closed for private contracting work for a week from July 9th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Drivers in Fort St. John are being notified of a road closure that may affect traffic near a local elementary school. 

The City of Fort St. John posted to Facebook on July 8th to warn drivers that 105th Avenue between 112th and 116th Streets will be closed starting on July 9th. 

According to the post, a private contractor will be connecting the new Naache Commons development to city services.

The closure is expected to last for one week. 

Margaret ‘Ma’ Murray Community School can still be accessed from 116th Street.

Motorists are also asked to use detour routes and slow down near working crews.
