Three suspects charged with manslaughter in Fort St. John homicide

The Fort St. John RCMP has arrested three individuals in connection with a homicide that occurred on June 24th, 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John RCMP has arrested three individuals in connection with a homicide that occurred on June 24th, 2025.

All three suspects are now facing charges of manslaughter, approved by the BC Prosecution Service, following an intensive multi-agency investigation.

The investigation began after officers responded to a report of an assault in which the victim was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The RCMP say they responded to the incident in a swift and coordinated manner involving Fort St. John RCMP Frontline officers, the Fort St. John Serious Crimes Unit, the Street Enforcement Team, the BC RCMP North District General Investigations Section, and the North District Major Crimes Unit.

“Our investigators worked tirelessly over the past few days to conduct a thorough investigation and arresting these three individuals,” said Corporal Paul Waterman of the Fort St. John RCMP Serious Crimes Unit. “We believe this to be an isolated incident with no additional threat to the public.”

Two of the suspects have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court on June 30, 2025. The third suspect remains in police custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.

Online court records identify two of those charged, while the third name is redacted due to a publication ban.

The named suspects are Ethan Joseph Charles Dore and Dyllon John Cazes. Dore’s year of birth is listed as 2000, while Cazes was born in 1993.
