UPDATE: Highway 97 open after vehicle fire

DriveBC is informing motorists of a Highway 97 road closure on June 26th due to a vehicle closure.

UPDATE as of 9:20 p.m. on June 26, 2025, Highway 97 is open in both directions.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Motorists are being made aware of a road closure between Farmington and Dawson Creek.

DriveBC said on Thursday, June 26th, shortly after 1 p.m., Highway 97 is closed between 229 Road and 216 Road until further notice due to a vehicle fire.

A detour set up on 237 Mason Road and 212 Bessborough.

DriveBC stated it would provide its next update at 4 p.m. on June 26th.

Energeticcity.ca contacted the Dawson Creek RCMP and the Taylor Fire Hall for more information, but they did not immediately respond before publication.
