Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the two occupants in the truck allegedly fled the scene, turning onto Mason Road.

After calling for assistance from the Fort St. John RCMP, Saunderson said the truck was found on that road, and two people resisted arrest.

“The vehicle was located on Mason Road where it stopped, then accelerated backwards at a rapid speed, crashing into the front end of a police vehicle,” said Sounderson

The vehicle allegedly then fled the scene again, leaving the police car “inoperable.”

Police said they located the vehicle again near a patch of trees off Mason Road.

Officers believe attempts were made to conceal it by using vegetation around the area.

Although there were reports of shots fired, no injuries or casualties were reported.

A man and a woman are from the Northwest Territories and are now in police custody.

The vehicle was later confirmed by police to have been stolen.

The investigation is still ongoing and more information may be released in due course.

Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250- 784-3700.
