DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Photographers in the Peace region have an opportunity to have their work immortalized on the walls of a local hospital for years to come.

According to an announcement from Northern Health, a series of pictures is required for wall graphics at the new Dawson Creek and District Hospital, which is currently under construction.

The health authority says it needs “local and regional scenic photographic images,” as well as images that reflect the Peace region’s natural beauty, spirit and landmarks.

Images need to be submitted in high-resolution vector or raster formats. A total of 13 images will be chosen, with the photographers behind each picture being compensated with $1,800 per chosen submission.

That means photographers will receive $3,600 if two of their pieces are chosen, $5,400 if three are chosen and so on.

“This is a chance for your art to help shape the look and feel of the new hospital,” the announcement reads. “Your photography could become part of a healing environment, offering comfort, inspiration and a sense of place to patients, families and staff for years to come.”
