FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A west Canada crane and heavy haulage company is now rebranded with a new name after being purchased last year.

NCSG Crane and Heavy Haul will now be known as Barnhart after Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. purchased the company in June 2024.

“The purchase of NCSG marked Barnhart’s first international acquisition and is the company’s largest single acquisition to date,” said David Webster, president of Barnhart.

Based in Memphis, Tennessee, Barnhart has eight branches in western Canada, including Fort St. John, Terrace, Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Bonnyville, Calgary and Fort McMurray.

“While the Canadian company has an impeccable reputation, rebranding as Barnhart emphasizes the access that Canadian customers have to the wide range of engineered solutions offered by one of North America’s largest crane, rigging and logistics providers,” said Webster.

NCSG employs around 400 workers who provide crane and heavy haul services to industries such as refining, upstream oil and gas, forestry, wind energy and mining.
