The project would see a total of seven open pits for coal extraction, and mining operations expected to last for 14 years.
CTI Plus Resources claims this would allow the company to produce three million tonnes of raw coal per year, or 1.8 million tonnes of clean coal per year. The company also says it would create more than 250 direct local jobs.
Based on the project timeline included in the presentation, baseline studies into the area and the feasibility of the mine are already underway, and are expected to be completed later this year.
After that, an environmental assessment application will be submitted in 2026. If approved, construction on the facility will begin in 2028, and mine operations will start in 2030.
