Gunshots fired in two Fort St. John incidents over weekend, police investigate

Police were called to reports of gunshots being fired in Fort St. John twice on May 11th, once on 92nd Street at about 1:40 a.m. and the second just after 6 p.m. on 269th Road.

The Fort St. John RCMP are investigating both incidents.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Police were called to reports of gunshots being fired in Fort St. John twice on Sunday. 

At just after 6 p.m. on May 11th, officers were called to 269 Road due to reports of gunfire.

Media relations officer for the North District of the BC RCMP, Cpl Madonna Saunderson, told Energeticcity.ca no-one was injured.

No suspects have yet been identified but an investigation into the incident is ongoing, she said. 

This comes after the Fort St. John RCMP were called to the 11000 block of 92nd Street earlier that day, at about 1:40 a.m., also to reports of gunfire.

In a press release issued on May 11th, officers said when they arrived, they found a car damaged by what appeared to be multiple bullet holes.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano said this appeared to be a targeted shooting and there is no “ongoing risk to the public.”

Saunderson was not able to confirm if these two incidents are being treated as linked or separate, but said more information could be released if it becomes available.
