New BC Transit detours to affect two Fort St. John bus routes
BC Transit has announced new detours affecting a pair of bus routes in Fort St. John (Route 3 Central-Prospect Park and Route 5 Southwest) that will come into effect later this May.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A few weeks after announcing an initial set of detours, BC Transit says more changes are coming to some transit routes in Fort St. John due to construction.
According to a new press release from the transit company, Route 3 Central-Prospect Park and Route 5 Southwest will detour around 111 Avenue between 102 Street and 104 Street to avoid construction.
These detours are set to come into effect in “mid-May,” although no exact date was given, and they will last until the fall.

While they’re in effect, bus stops in the detoured areas will be closed and new temporary stops will be set up to replace them.
This comes one month after the announcement of other detours affecting Route 2 Southside and Route 4 Southeast that came into effect on April 15th.
Residents are urged to sign up for alerts on BC Transit’s website for the latest updates on detours in Fort St. John.
BC Transit also issued a warning to customers in late April saying scammers were impersonating the company on social media. To learn more, click here.
