BC Transit to waive fees on election day 2025 to help voters

BC Transit has partnered with local governments to waive fees on election day 2025, April 28th.

Update, 24th April, 12:15 p.m.: This story has been updated to clarify it is only in Dawson Creek that the fee waiving does not include handyDART.

BRITISH COLUMBIA — BC Transit has partnered with local governments to offer free transit on election day and help residents to cast their vote next Monday.

Free transit will be available in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek on April 28th. This does not include handyDART services in Dawson Creek.

“Offering free transit helps make it easier for residents to get to the polls and cast their ballots.” BC Transit said in a press release.

It added the decision to offer free transit is made by local governments in each community.
