Fort St. John Hospital back open after ‘police activity’ temporarily ‘restricted access’

“Police activity” saw access to Fort St. John Hospital temporarily restricted on April 18th, but the facility is now fully open to patients.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — “Police activity” saw access to Fort St. John Hospital temporarily restricted today. 

Northern Health, the organization which runs the hospital, confirmed to Energeticcity.ca the facility was “temporarily restricted for a short period” due to “police activity” on April 18th.

However, the spokesperson said the hospital is not on lockdown or diversion and is back now open to patients. 

Energeticcity.ca has contacted the Fort St. John RCMP for more information and will update this story as it becomes available.

This comes after Energeticcity.ca revealed there had been more than 800 hours of hospital closures throughout northeast B.C. between July 2024 and January 2025.
